In fact, John Grant is born in 1805. Furthermore, he purchased Glenfarclas Distillery for £511.19s.0d on the 8th of June 1865. To this day, Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled and matured at our family owned and run distillery. We feel that to create a great malt whisky is a honored process. My family cherished the skills and traditions of fine malt whisky making. As a result, we hand them down through six generations.
In addition, the Glenfarclas whisky distillery draws its water from pure springs on the rugged Ben Rinnes mountain range. Moreover, the distillery sits in the moors of Banffshire, just a mile away from the River Spey. In fact, Glenfarclas is always one of the Scotland’s only family run distilleries. Accordingly, we have a strong degree of independence. Furthermore, our single malt whiskies matured solely in sherry butts. We age our whiskies in the substantial onsite warehousing facilities, the 28 warehouses hold 52,000 casks.
Glenfarclas retains its integrity as one of the few Scotch makers never to use exotic woods for maturation.
