SINGLETON 12 LIMITED EDITION FESTIVE PACKS
A revamped bottling of Glen Ord 12 years, re-invented as part of Diageo’s ‘Singleton’ range initially for the Japanese market. A fruity, well-composed Singleton that manages to be both light and smooth without compromising any depth of flavour or fullness of palate, it finds an ideal partner in summer fruits and rose petals. This unique bottling comes packed together with a Glen Ord glass tumbler, a pourer and a jigger, with intents for sharing this good whisky.
Amber color. Aromas of ripe peaches and apricots, tropical tea, cherry granola, grand Marnier, and hazelnut with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium-to-full body and an even, interesting, medium-long soy glazed almonds, zucchini bread, caponata with raisins, bran muffin, and grass and menthol finish. A robust Speyside single malt that will be an excellent standby to keep in-house.
A large distillery in Diageo’s portfolio, with few bottlings until it was bottled in the Singleton range (allongside Glen Ord and Dufftown). Interestingly, the Singleton bottlings are dependent upon regional tasting preferences and primarily released in different regions – with Dufftown going to Europe (and Canada – I guess we have a European taste?), Glen Ord going to Asia, and Glendullan going to the USA. A “high proportion” of American oak goes into this bottling.
